He Came Too Late, I'd Already Left - Episode 2

Introduction: On the night Victoria Vance, the only daughter of the Vance family—one of the five Mafia families—returns home, she is publicly slapped by Chloe, the surrogate her fiance Vincent Lucchese kept. Vincent takes Chloe’s side, forcing Victoria through 99 lashes, a public apology, kidnapping and humiliation, near death in an oxygen-deprivation chamber, and serving as a bridesmaid at a fake wedding. Heartbroken, she messages her mysterious contact Z: “See you at City Hall in five days.” Z is Zane, the European tycoon who saved her at nine and waited ten years for her. They fall in love after marriage, and Zane heals her with tenderness. When Vincent learns the truth, he regrets everything, and ultimately dies in a mudslide while saving her. Victoria lets go of the past, devotes herself to charity, and begins a new life with Zane and their daughter.
