One Coin to Rule the Apocalypse - Episode 8

Introduction: "One month after the Shadow Rift erupts, the power of Cthulhu and the Old Gods corrupts the Western cities. Contaminated vampires, werewolves, mutants, and liches run rampant, slaughtering humans. The contaminated Fiends are bound by the rule of the Contaminated Territories. Normal order collapses. Shadow Coins become the only hard currency—able to buy anything and resist the Old Gods’ corruption. For ordinary people, earning even one is next to impossible. Cole Thorne, a 28-year-old Wall Street financier, is maliciously thrown by his uncle into a Fiend scenario called the Shadow Film Set. He becomes an “audition actor” for Fiend missions, where breaking one rule means death. At his lowest, the [10,000x Rebate System] awakens: spend one Shadow Coin, and the return is ten thousandfold. After barely earning a single Shadow Coin, Cole stuns everyone by using it to buy a frail old woman—Sybil, a figure from Greco-Roman myth. Everyone thinks he’s lost his mind. He only did it for the rebate. But there’s an unexpected prize: the old witch he saved has the gift of prophecy. She needs a massive amount of Shadow Coins to break her curse, restore her body, and return to her youthful beauty—golden-haired and blue-eyed. Every prophecy also burns a fortune in Shadow Coins. For anyone else, it’s crippling. For Cole, it’s pocket change. Out of gratitude and curiosity, Sybil chooses to follow him and binds herself to him by contract. Her prophecies give him scenario clues, Fiend weaknesses, and early warnings. Cole unlocks tycoon mode: he buys out the Shadow Nobles’ restaurant, acquires the Dark Mall, commands a Fiend pumpkin carriage, and allies with a vampire lord. With the 10,000x rebate’s cash power, he crushes the Blackstone Consortium and the Old God cultists—spending his way to strength, collecting factions, and becoming the ruler of the apocalypse."
