The Godfather's Caged Bird - Episode 45

Introduction: At eighteen, gifted student Elena Bennett is forced to accept the protection of Damian Moretti, heir to a powerful New York crime family, after her mother falls into massive underground debt. Damian clears the debt—but in return, Elena spends the next ten years trapped inside the Moretti estate. He gives her jewelry, luxury, and every material comfort, yet never gives her real freedom, treating her like a little bird kept in a gilded cage. While her movements are still restricted, Elena secretly prepares for her exams and reconnects with Aiden Walker, a former high school classmate who had always ranked just behind her academically. Unlike Damian, Aiden believes in Elena’s ability and offers to support her education. Elena ultimately earns three A grades. She then pretends to submit completely to Damian, convinces him to take her to Europe, and escapes during a stopover in Istanbul by using a decoy and a private plane. Damian mobilizes the entire Moretti family to find her. Only after investigating Elena’s past does he realize that the “canary” he kept for ten years had once been a brilliant student capable of entering one of the world’s top universities. Three years later, Elena graduates from Cambridge with top marks in every subject. Damian stands at the very back of the crowd and watches her from a distance one last time, while Elena takes Aiden’s hand and walks toward a new life that finally belongs to her.
