The Mute Daughter Speaks: Billion-Dollar Family Survives - Episode 2

Pengantar: "My brother, Alexander Ashford, conquered Wall Street at 18, while my sister, Isabella Ashford, earned two PhDs by 20. I'm the youngest daughter of the filthy-rich Ashford family. Ever since childhood, I've been slow-witted and barely able to speak, earning a reputation in our social circle as a mute and idiot. That is, until this day, when Ashford Group gets hit with a hostile short-sell and sits right on the edge of bankruptcy. My dad, Richard Ashford, sits there with his face turning gray, while Alexander tears through the fine print looking for a single loophole. And Jeffrey Hart, our chief legal counsel of ten years, has already been bought off.“Just sign it. I've gone over the terms. It's airtight. ” I’m so irritated by the sound that I couldn't keep pretending anymore. I bolt straight to the table, snatch the thick contract, flip past page three, and slam it heavily onto the surface. Then, I clearly deliver my very first words in the Ashford family.“The main contract and the addendum have a direct jurisdictional conflict. Sign this, and the Ashfords won't just walk away broke. You'll be ten billion dollars in debt!”"
