The Mute Mage: One Word to Oblivion - Episode 21

Introduction: For thirteen years, Oswin shoveled horse dung for a noble family. The academy called him "the mute." No one knew: he kept silent to keep the world alive. At six, he shouted "Snow!"—and froze half his village. Forty-one died. Since then, he never spoke holding a wand. His only confidant: a magic-immune raven who spoke for him. He survived as the lowest servant, living only for his gifted sister. Then she enrolled at the Mage Academy—and vanished. One letter in her blood: *Forget me.* To save her, he enters the Academy. The young master shoves a wand down his throat to ""cure"" him. The dean locks a beast collar on him—built to suppress archmages. He wins the dueling exam fairly, then is forced to kneel before four hundred students and confess to cheating. The prize? ""Cook it. I don't care."" Everyone laughs. No one connects the dots. Why does the ancient beast roar when he picks up a wand? Why do fireballs unseen for centuries fall when he whispers ""fire""? Why does the sacred rank-measuring beast play dead when he passes? For eight hundred years, every Tower Master was noble-born. The last needed nine days. Oswin does it in under an hour—while villains bombard the Tower to bury him. Then the mute rides back on the sacred beast. The collar shatters. The entire academy drops to one knee before the stable boy they spat on. Every debt is coming due, with interest. One word from this man is a natural disaster. So tell us—what happens when he finally decides to speak?
