The Third Year I Stopped Waiting - Episode 10

Introduction: Three years ago, Nolan Reed’s most trusted friend, Devon Holt, produced forged family trust documents claiming that he could inherit his shares only if he entered into a legal marriage before turning thirty-one.Nolan’s wife, Blair, persuaded him to agree to a temporary divorce. She promised that she would remain married to Devon on paper for only ninety days and would remarry Nolan as soon as the legal arrangement was over.Nolan trusted them. But ninety days stretched into three full years, and during that time, a two-and-a-half-year-old “adopted daughter” named Mia appeared in Devon’s life.Everything changes on their son Luke’s fifth birthday, when Nolan accidentally sees synchronized messages on a tablet Blair leaves behind. He discovers that Mia was never adopted at all.She is Blair and Devon’s biological daughter.Worse still, Blair was already pregnant when she signed the divorce papers three years earlier.Nolan digs deeper and discovers that the supposed trust requirement never existed. Blair had initially been deceived by Devon as well, but over the next three years, she became unwilling to give up either side of her life. She could not bear to leave Devon and Mia, yet she also refused to let go of Nolan and Luke.So she kept finding excuses to delay remarrying Nolan.Nolan does not confront her.Instead, he quietly gathers evidence, applies for permission to relocate across state lines, and prepares to leave with Luke.It is not until Blair accidentally reveals Mia’s true identity during a family dinner that Nolan finally tells her he has known everything for some time—and places the relocation documents in front of her.Blair still assumes he is simply angry and trying to frighten her.Only the next morning, when she discovers that the house has been completely emptied, does she finally realize the truth:Nolan and Luke have really left her. From that point on, Blair begins to face what she has done and gradually learns to take responsibility for her choices.Meanwhil
