Plot of Fated to the Alpha

Katya Hartley had been a victim of bullying and harassment by her classmates due to her supposed "wolfless status." In the Werewolf system, being wolfless was usually seen as a sign of being "impure" or "tarnished," and, thus, people who were born without a wolf were shunned and ostracized by family and pack. Since Katya was nearing her coming of age and had not experienced any shifting, everyone around her began to mock and humiliate her.

One day, Katya was ambushed by Tabitha Blackwell (Alpha Jackson's daughter) and her friends after stepping out of the principal's office and, just as things were starting to get aggressive, Katya's mom appeared, grabbing Tabitha's head and banging it against a desk, an action that would put the entire Hartley family out of favor with their Alpha and, hence, the entire pack.

Fearing for their life, the Hartley family seeks the protection of the Black Creek pack (as was foreshadowed by a mysterious wolf-like shade that appeared to Katya before the ambush incident). The Hartleys' sudden decision to leave Blackwell raised suspicions in Alpha Ezre of Black Creek, who speculated that they might actually be spies for Alpha Jackson, with whom he wasn't very amicable to begin with. Meanwhile, Alpha Jackson was outraged after hearing what transpired, but, at the same time, a feeling of unease overcame him, since he suspected that Katya could be the Lunar Healer that he needed to save his daughter from her mortal disease.

Back to Alpha Ezre, he decides to hold two separate interviews: one with Katya's parents, and the other with Katya herself. By doing so, he would ensure that their narratives were consistent and they didn't have any ulterior motives. After interviewing Katya and having her drink his blood to seal the new pact, it immediately dawned on him that she was his mate. However, Katya hadn't yet sensed the "scent," requiring Ezre to approach their connection more slowly. At this point, he was fully unaware that she didn't have a wolf (which is the main reason why she didn't feel the mate bond), and her mother periodically administered wolfsbane on her to conceal her status so as to not get on Ezra's wrong side.

Main Characters in Fated to the Alpha

Katya Hartley

Katya, born to Beta parents within the Blackwell pack, faced a unique challenge: she lacked a wolf, setting her apart from the rest of the pack. Despite her privileged family status, other pack members didn't reciprocate her kindness, and her classmates constantly bullied her, leading her to develop an introverted personality. Fortunately, her parents provided unwavering support, helping her navigate the darkest moments.

Despite her presumed wolfless state, she holds a mysterious power that she herself is oblivious to, though it's a power that many of her enemies would want to harness.

Alpha Ezra

Alpha Ezra leads the Black Creek Pack, which was once allied with Blackwell. However, Ezra assumed leadership after his father's death, an event that left everyone in Blackwell believing he was a murderer. While the rumors held true-Ezra did kill his father-he later disclosed that it was to protect the pack from his father's monstrous actions

Darren Blackwell

Darren is Alpha Ezra's cousin and Alpha Anthony's son, a ruthless and sociopathic S.O.B. (perhaps even more so than his sister or his father) who doesn't mind resorting to violence to get what he wants, including Katya, whom he wishes to mark as his mate against her will. For a long time, he had subjected Katya to physical abuse, inflicting severe emotional scars on her.

Conclusion

"Fated to the Alpha" brims with heartwarming scenes, thrilling twists, and a mix of endearing and less likable characters, making for a borderline religious viewing experience. Our female lead, portrayed by the stunning Maria Barseghian, serves as the show's "North Star," illuminating other characters with her charisma, beauty, and celestial personality. The side characters, particularly Jasmine (Gabrielle Burns) and Angie (Rebecca Stoughton), also contribute to the compelling narrative, with Angie's uplifting character arc standing out.

As for the plot, while following conventional Werewolf tropes in many areas, has some original ideas thrown in. For example, we're not greeted with the typical rejected Beta daughter that we're used to seeing in many Lycan novels but, rather, we're introduced to a wolfless girl that, while rejected by many, has loving parents who support and care for her, which is a welcome change.

If you're in need of a visually enticing Werewolf drama with captivating characters and a thought-provoking story, you can't go wrong with "Fated to the Alpha"!
