Introduction: Ian joined a dragon-slaying quest as a human knight, only to be captured and imprisoned in the dragon fortress. Drake sensed the aura of his fated mate among the captives, yet mistook the female scribe beside Ian for his destined partner and ordered his subordinates to seize her. Ian threw himself in the way repeatedly to save the scribe, and by sheer accident stumbled straight into Drake’s quarters. It was then that Drake detected the fated bond emanating from Ian. As the full moon rose, Drake transformed into his ferocious dragon form and nearly lashed out at Ian, only to calm down under Ian’s soothing comfort. The two spent an intimate night together. When Ian woke at dawn and attempted to flee, he was caught by Drake. Drake had no memory that Ian was the one who shared the night with him; he merely deemed Ian an enemy agent sent by humankind and commanded his men to lock Ian away. After tangled misunderstandings, forced intimacy and emotional friction, the pair could never break free from the pull of their fated bond. They cleared up all confusion and went on to live a happy life side by side.
